A Feng Shui Consultant for the Los Angeles Zoo
Few years ago, I received quite an unusual request from the architecture firm in charge of re-designing a section of the Los Angeles Zoo: they asked me to consult as Feng Shui expert for the $7.4 million redesign of the rare Golden Monkeys Pavillion at the zoo.
The habitat resembles an ancient Chinese Village and so they thought having a Feng Shui expert of board was in line with the character of the design. Their request made sense since in my experience, Feng Shui science works also for animals as well as for people.
The redesign went very well -but for an unexpected turn of the events, instead of the three Golden Monkeys, other types of monkeys are occupying the spaces, and faring wonderfully!
Since it was the first animal habitat to have been Feng-Shui-ed, the media went to town with it. Here below is a small press review of the event, picked up by national and local outlets – while the BBC featured it in many of its international editions. You can read more by clicking on the pictures.
Even thou the Golden Monkey Pavilion at the Los Angeles Zoo was the first official Zoo habitat to be designed with Feng Shui principles anywhere in the world at the time (and possibly still one of the few, if not the only one), our firm had consulted for other private animal habitats in the years priors, including multiple horse stables, bird sanctuaries and wild animal shelters.
Thou Feng Shui for animals in not contemplated in the ancient Feng Shui books, our very own personal experience lead to our firm being chosen for this prestigious project.
